Jag var ju aldrig nån Sega-fanboy men hos alla gamla Mega Drive-frälsta, de som grät en stilla tår när det stod klart att Dreamcast skulle komma att bli det anrika företagets sista konsol, hos dem dunkar nog hjärtat lite extra hårt när de får se det här.
"Tillbaka till rötterna" har Sega sagt så många gånger när de försökt nylansera den blå igelkotten till snart vartenda format på marknaden. Den här gången verkar de dock mena allvar. De har nämligen satt en fyra efter namnet istället för nån fräsig undertitel och säger därmed att det här är den riktiga uppföljaren till Sonic 3 och en sådan har Sega inte råd att låta vara något annat än grym. Än är inte nyretron död alltså. Bionic Commando: Rearmed och Mega Man 9 var ju båda fantastiska, och New Super Mario Bros Wii lyckades dessutom att utveckla det klassiska Mario-konceptet i 2D ännu en bit. Än så länge har vi knappt sett nåt ur Sonic 4 men min gissning är att det kommer att vara tokmycket nostalgiserande utan att tillföra särskilt många nya element till spelandet. Sega måste faktiskt spela säkert med sin maskot nu. Något annat har de inte längre råd till.
